| How to import and export Address Book in Outlook Express? |
| One of the most useful tools in Outlook Express is its Address Book which allows you to store, maintain and manage all your contacts along with their postal address details, phone numbers etc. One would think this must be the best kind of a contact diary one can have. It is quite true. However, a corruption makes it highly vulnerable and can make it lose some or all of your addresses. So, it’s not only essential to keep a backup of all contacts in a safe place but have a recovery software to recover them in case you don’t have a backup or the backup is not readily available. In any case, transferring your contacts to other sources is really important and crucial. Here, we’ll tell you how to import and export your Address Book in Outlook Express. Here, we’ve outlined step-by-step procedures for your easy understanding. You can save a copy of your address book in your hard-drive or on any other computer. We’ll start with exporting procedures. Step 1: Click on “File” menu after you open Outlook Express. You’ll reach “Export” option from where you have to choose “Address Book”. You’ll see an Address Book Export window open, just select “Text file” and click on “Export” to start exporting your address book to your desired destination. Step 2: An Export window will appear and ask you to choose a name for your export file. Think of a name easily identifiable and then click on “Browse” to choose a location on the hard drive where you would like to save your export file to. Save and then move on to click next button. Step 3: Exporting allows you, interestingly and conveniently, to either transfer all the details of a contact or just select some part of it which you think are required for your purpose. Having chosen what to export, click to “Finish”. Address window will appear to let you know that you’ve finished exporting. You can now click “OK” and close the window. How to import your Address Book in Outlook Express? Step 1: After opening Outlook Express, go to “File” menu, and click on “Import” and from there go to “Other Address Book”.
